Janice McCurdy has had a life long interest in photography. She decided to pursue it as career after working briefly at Pridham's Studio in Truro Nova Scotia. To expand upon the experience gained at Priham's Studio Janice enrolled in Holland College's Photography Program. There she acquired the technical skills she required and a deeper appreciation for the art form she is passionate about. At this time Janice was drawn to commercial photography where the many possible arrangements of diverse elements appealed to her. One of her favourite techniques in this genre is "painting with light".

Janice graduated from Holland College in 2001 with a diploma and started her own photography business. Janice McCurdy Photography specializes in wedding photography, portraits and creative still life. Janice also worked at Carsand Mosher Photographic an equipment retail store where she met Mark Goudge.

Mark is the owner of Quantum Photography, a commercial photography company. Janice gained more experience in the business through job shadowing Mark. Currently she works part time at Quantum Photography creating imagery for such notable companies as Sobeys, Wearwell Garment Co, and Maryann's Gifts.
